Online Income

How to select an industry for profitable business

You must select a topic and industry you are passionate about. I am passionate about credit cards, saving money using financial hacks, and growing businesses without spending money on advertisements. I started an online community to help people select the best credit card for cashbacks on shopping/fuel/travel, to enjoy long luxury travel under budget, and help people identify a passive source of income.

You should select the right channel for driving traffic to your website. There are two major ways of getting traffic to your website:

#1. Traffic from Google (+ some traffic from Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo)

#2. Traffic from Facebook (+ some traffic from Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn)

Google and Facebook dominate most of the traffic (in India). Don’t worry about the other traffic sources if your focus is the Indian audience.

Industries dominating Facebook

  1. Eentertainment (fun and gossip)
  2. Cricket
  3. Politics
  4. Startups and marketing
  5. Media (news and trends)

Industries dominating Google

  1. Tech
  2. Shopping
  3. Finance
  4. Health
  5. Education

Industries dominating both Facebook and Google

  1. Jobs
  2. Fashion and beauty
  3. Childcare and parenting
  4. Food
  5. Travel

Focusing on your passion is more important than chasing money.

Top paying online jobs.

Depending on your skill set, you could easily supplement your income with an online job in a number of areas. In our so-called gig economy, it’s fairly easy to leverage existing apps like Fiverr, Uber and PostMates that pay you to provide a service to a vast group of people. But how about when you’re searching for something more substantial? Which online jobs will pay you the biggest amount of money for the work you’ll put in?

Depending on your level of skill and expertise, there are a wide range of options that extend from business services to direct-to-consumer work. As the internet grows, it gets more complex and convoluted. Certain fundamental marketing concepts, while easy to understand, have become incredibly difficult to implement online. We’re talking about increased visibility, more leads and sales, things that businesses have cared about for ages.

If you know what you’re doing, the following seven online jobs can produce substantial incomes.

AdSense & other Ad network

Although this one is the most favourite in my list but I put this in #4 because its not as easy as other 3 above & it takes time to make money from Google AdSense.

You need a website (which anyone can create now a days) & some tricks to bring the traffic on your website so that you can earn money from AdSense & other ad network.

Make money online – quick tips

Before you start to earn money online, there are a few things worth knowing. The main thing to remember is that while some of these sites only pay small amounts, add them all together and you could be looking at an annual bonanza of £1,000s.

  • Don’t store cash in online-earning accounts

Companies that offer you the opportunity to earn online aren’t banks. There’s no protection if one goes under, taking your cash with it. So withdraw your cash as soon as you reach the payment threshold.

  • Set up a dedicated email address

Don’t use your normal email address – it’ll be immediately flooded. Instead, set up a dedicated email account for online earning. When it comes to powerful free option, Gmail is among the best. Doing this is also a quick way to check when new paid tasks become available.

  • Don’t expect to be instantly rolling in it
With some sites, it can take a while to earn enough to be able to withdraw your money. And if you give up, it means you did the tasks for free.

For this reason, it’s important to understand it’s not quick cash. But it is nice extra income, provided you’re consistent and have a little patience.

  • Don’t forget the taxman’ll want his share

Before you start counting the dosh, don’t forget some of it belongs to the taxman. For most people, it’ll be around a third. That said, earnings from most of these sources are unlikely to push non-taxpayers over the threshold.

As any sources of extra income need to be declared, ensure you’re upfront with HM Revenue & Customs. Survey earnings are self-employed income, which means registering as self-employed with HMRC on 0300 200 3300. Register late and you could face an automatic £100 penalty.

For full information, read HMRC’s self-employment leaflet.

Two new tax breaks, which were supposed to have applied to earnings from 6 April 2017, have been quietly axed by the Government. See our Government drops £1,000 tax breaks for online sellers and room renters – for now news story for full details.

What counts as income? We asked HMRC and it said income earned through websites and apps may be taxable if the income’s in return for performing a service or providing a facility.

So, completing online surveys or allowing an application to analyse your activities is taxable, but if you’re unsure, give HMRC a call.

  • Spend gift vouchers ASAP

If you’re given the choice, opt to get paid in cash. If you get paid in gift vouchers, spend them ASAP. Doing so reduces your chances of being left with invalid vouchers should the retailer go bust on you. Plus it means you can’t lose them or forget about them until they go out of date.

Paid for searching the web

Interested in earning cash for doing what you already do online? This has to be one of the easiest methods of making money online without really any effort or change in your behavior.

This innovative idea by Qmee.com rewards you for searching in Google, Bing or Yahoo. You just install a simple add-on to your browser and when you conduct a search there may be a few sponsored results alongside your normal search.

Each Qmee result has a cash reward attached – if you are interested in it simply click on it and collect your reward.

The best thing is there is no minimum to cashout – our first one was just 72p wired to our Paypal account. You also have the option to donate it to charity.

Email marketing.

The money is most certainly in the list. If you’re at all interested in online marketing, setup email software and create a lead magnet that you can use in your sales funnel. Then, build up that list. It’s often said that you can expect to earn about $1 per subscriber per month. If you have a list of 10,000 subscribers, that means you can earn roughly around $10,000 per month. You will need to deliver value and not pitch them on every email, but it is a very achievable goal in a short period.

There are many ways to get people onto your list. Lead magnets are one such resource. For example, you can build ebooks, checklists and cheat sheets. But you can also do content upgrades, such as PDF versions of an article with added resources in them, four-part video training series, and more. Think about your audience and what you can offer them to better serve them, then treat them with some respect and you’ll eventually reap the rewards.

Webinars trainings.

Webinars are quite possibly one of the most potent ways you can make an exorbitant amount of money online. Russell Brunson often says that if you do a webinar every single week for a year, you’ll be a millionaire at the end of it. You’ll need an audience to train and you’ll need to know what you’re talking about. Of course, this usually requires having a website and some semblance of an online presence.

However, people can still do webinars without all of that. For example, you might have a sizable social media following and you train them every week on something to do with social media. But you will need a product to embed and sell at some point. Don’t worry about it in the beginning. And by far, the best webinar platform out there is certainly GoToWebinar. Hands down, there isn’t even another platform that comes close.

However, not matter what method you choose to make money online, understand that you might be able to make some money fast, but for the sizable returns, you’ll need significant sweat equity. However, a year from now, you’ll be happy you started today. Remember, time is far more valuable than money. Focus on creating passive income streams that will free up your time so that you can quit the rat race and focus on the things that matter. That’s the important thing here.

Make an Investment, Then Set It and Forget It

Tucking away money from each paycheck is a tough thing to do  — because it’s payday, hey!

The best way to smuggle little chunks of your paycheck into a separate account is to automate the process so you don’t have to think about it. An app like Acorns can help with that.

Acorns is a micro-investing app that allows you to execute a set-it-and-forget-it method. (Kinda like the Ronco Rotisserie.)

Set up your Acorns account so it dumps spare change from your debit or credit card transactions into an account. For example, spend $1.20 at the gas station, and Acorns will stash 80 cents away. Or set up your account so that every two weeks, it saves $20.

Work at Home Anywhere in the World

If you work at home, what difference does it make what country you live in? A lot! Most global companies will only hire in particular countries. The ones on this huge list of work-at-home companies are mostly U.S. companies, though many do hire outside the U.S. as well. However, we’ve narrowed the list down to those that hire more globally.

The work-at-home positions (below) are filled by people living both inside or outside the United States.

Often these companies hire worldwide, but some are noted to hire in only Canada, Europe or other specific countries. The pay scale on these global jobs varies widely.

Top 20 Companies Hiring for Part-Time, Work-from-Home Jobs

Part-time, work-from-home jobs are a highly coveted type of work flexibility. For a variety of reasons, experienced professionals sometimes don’t want or can’t commit to a full-time, in-office job.

Sell Your Skills

There are plenty of freelancing websites where people put their talents up for sale. But Fiverr is the go-to spot, thanks to its millions of users and brilliantly simple premise. “Rather than acting as a labor market, Fiverr works like an e-commerce platform, where services are offered as products,” says Aimy Ngo, Fiverr’s business development and marketing strategist. “This makes it easy to control what you will provide and how much to charge.”

With more than 100 categories to choose from, there’s a market for nearly every skill, from graphic design and web development to songwriting and astrology reading. When posting a “gig” (Fiverr lingo for your service), include details about the scope of your offering, your availability and pricing.

While many gigs start at just $5 a pop (Fiverr captures 20% of the fee), “sellers can create a tiered pricing model for a single service, offering good, better and best options,” Ngo says. “After a gig is delivered, the buyer leaves a review, giving you credibility and a reputation.”

Your paycheck will vary widely depending on your experience and free time. “Fiverr’s marketplace caters to the freelance moonlighter with 10 hours to spare a week, along with the professional who’s relying on this as a primary source of income,” Ngo says, noting that some top sellers make over $100,000 annually.

Social Media Manager

Managing a company’s social media accounts can be a fun way to make money on a flexible schedule. It’s also a cool way to connect with businesses you love.

A social media manager serves as the voice and face of a business on a number of engagement platforms. You’ll promote deals and content and interact with followers.

Online Ad Clicking Jobs

This is the easiest online job because even a 10 years kid can do this. Here, you have to join some legit sites that pay for clicking and reading ads.

Its easy to earn $250 to $500 by working 15-20 minutes on these sites.

These sites are known as PTC sites. There are hundreds of PTC sites but only few are legit.

I have been consistently working on these PTC sites for last 2-4 years and earning 4 figure monthly income just from PTC sites.

I have made more than $60,000 from one such PTC site. Trust me, I never worked more than 10 minutes on this site for making this much income.

I will show you 5 such legit sites including this above site where you can make good income working part time.

Just 4 simple steps to earn from these online jobs-

  1. Join some legit PTC sites (It’s free to join)
  2. Login to your account daily.
  3. View ads & complete other tasks.
  4. Get paid instantly

Online Micro Jobs

Micro jobs simply means small jobs (or tasks) which takes few seconds or few minutes to complete. There are dozens of sites like Amazon Turk, MicroWorkers which provide online micro jobs.

You can earn 5 cents to $1 for completing each task (depending on the time duration of the tasks).

There are hundreds of small tasks like sharing a page, giving review or rating for a product or page, writing a short article, searching something from Google, creating a testimonial or many other simple & easy tasks.

If you work 1-2 hours a day then you can earn $500 to $1000 if you live in USA, UK, Canada etc. & Rs 6,000 to Rs15,000 if you are from India or other country.

Stop Deleting Your Emails

It turns out that deleting your emails could be costing you serious money. Intrigued?

My new secret weapon is called Paribus — a tool that gets you money back for your online purchases. It’s free to sign up, and once you do, Paribus will scan your email archives for any receipts. If it discovers you’ve purchased something from Target or one of the other 20+ retailers listed on their website, it will track the item’s price and issue you a refund anytime there’s a price drop!

You don’t have to do anything!

Online Jobs That Take Little or No Experience

Not everyone who wants to work at home is looking for long-term career options. Sometimes you just want something that is relatively easy where you can make some extra cash fast. If that describes you, these 5 online jobs may be just the thing.

The online application process for these jobs—or perhaps “gigs” is the better word since they are all for independent contractors—is pretty simple and straightforward with very little required of candidates. Some of these opportunities—like the microjobs—you could very well apply and start the same day. And these jobs require very little commitment and can typically be done on your on schedule.

A word of caution: Remember that where very little is required, very little is offered. These jobs don’t pay much, and they are not going to provide a reference for your resume. It may take working at several different of these online jobs to pull in the income you want. And as always, know the signs of a work-at-home scam as you sort through the opportunities.

Online Business

In many ways, starting an online business is similar to starting a brick-and-mortar store. You’ll plan your business, organize your funding, produce your product, and get to work. But, there are unique aspects of running an online-only business that would-be entrepreneurs need to consider.

I’ve laid out a few of the various types of online businesses that you might be interested in starting, both those based around existing platforms like Etsy and eBay, and self-hosted eCommerce sites. We’ll also go over the process for starting an online business, and the steps you’ll need to take to get your business up and running.

In addition, you’ll find links throughout this article to other Bplans articles, which you’ll definitely want to check out. They’ll help you go into more detail about the different aspects of starting your online business, such as setting up your website and how to register your business name.

Software

Everyone wants to create the next Snapchat or Instagram — and it can be even more tempting if you’re a programmer.

I mean, we’re always hearing stories of sexy new Silicon Valley startups getting billions after their company goes public — why would you NOT start drooling?

The reality is that this simply isn’t a viable option for a lot of us, though.

For most, we can’t even code. And I think I’d rather go play in traffic than figure out the technical stuff that goes into it.

And even if you CAN code, chances are you don’t want to deal with the challenge of marketing, distributing, and constantly upgrading your app.

Software and apps require you to absolutely nail it right away. Otherwise, you spent all that time creating a product no one will buy.

Don’t believe me? The app store is a graveyard of apps no one ever downloads (check one developer’s story here about how he only made $36 in TWO months).

Later, I’ll describe some better options that allow you to adjust to the needs of your customers — options that’ll take less time and energy and help more people.

How to Start a Business Online

There is a proven sequence of steps you can follow to guarantee your success when you’re starting a small business online. I’ve seen thousands of people start and grow successful businesses by doing the following:

  1. Find a need and fill it.
  2. Write copy that sells.
  3. Design and build an easy-to-use website.
  4. Use search engines to drive traffic to your site.
  5. Establish an expert reputation for yourself.
  6. Follow up with your customers and subscribers with email.
  7. Increase your income through back-end sales and upselling.

Anyone, from newbie to seasoned online entrepreneur, can benefit from this process in learning how to start a business online.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is somewhat similar to drop shipping but with some key differences. With this e-commerce model, you again don’t maintain an inventory of your own products, and you don’t have to worry about shipping products to customers.

Basically, you pick a profitable niche for your online business, and then you find an affiliate partner who has products available in that niche. Some of the most popular affiliate sites are Clickbank.com, Amazon.com, and CJ Affiliate by Conversant (formerly Commission Junction). Between them, they offer just about any digital information product (like ebooks, audio files, video files) or physical product you can think of.

You offer the products for sale, for example, on your blog or e-commerce website. Each product has a unique link that tracks back to your account with your affiliate partner.

A prospect who clicks on the link is taken to your partner’s shopping cart for checkout. Once they buy, that purchase is recorded and you receive a commission. It varies depending on the affiliate partner, but is generally 5 percent to 25 percent, or 50 percent or more with digital information products. As you can see, there’s little risk on your part and virtually no investment needed either.

All you have to do is handle the marketing to get your prospects to buy (through social media, email marketing, blogging, or whatever method you choose). But after they click the affiliate link, it’s out of your hands. You don’t have to ship products or handle any customer service questions. And you certainly don’t have to maintain an inventory.

All you have to do is focus on paid and free ways to market your online business.

Freelancing Service Business Idea

Just about any skill that another business needs can be done on a freelance basis. Web design, social media management, and virtual assistance can be viewed as freelance business. So can content and copy writing, bookkeeping, graphic design, desktop publishing and more.

The benefit to freelancing is that you can take a skill you already have and turn it into a business. You know how to provide the service, so all you need to learn is how to market it. If you’re known for your skill, finding clients can be easy. You can turn your former boss into a client, access your network for referrals and more. But if you have trouble, the freelance sites can be a good source to jump start your business.

There’s nothing more off-putting than a poorly designed website, and often, it kills credibility. If you know HTML and have a good eye for design, you can launch a service to create attractive, easy-to-use websites for small businesses. Put your skills to good use for business owners who want to take their online presence to the next level. Build a comprehensive portfolio, and then create your own website to show it off and attract a steady stream of clients.

Social Media Management Business

Internet marketing services are in great demand. However, with marketing moving from a one-directional advertising message to social interaction, the need for social media management experts is huge.

More than just driving traffic to a website as internet marketing experts do, social media managers help businesses create a community around their product or service, manage the brand image, provide customer service, and more.

Being a social media manager requires an understanding of social media (i.e. what types of posts do best at each network), knowledge on how to share the company’s brand with the market, and ability to engage with the market without offending the market or hurting the company’s brand.

Online work from home

Online work from home

Earn a steady paycheck without ever leaving your house. These easy work-at-home job ideas will have you earning cash in no time.

If you don’t relish the thought of hustling to a workplace every day or you’re having a hard time securing a local gig, there’s never been a better time to work from home: More than 40 million Americans do it, according to the advocacy group Telework Coalition. And as the economy improves, more companies will be looking for additional staff. For most at-home jobs, you’ll need a computer and an Internet connection, some basic skills and a can-do attitude. Click through this list of 12 employment areas that are booming right now.

Virtual Assistant

What It Is: Many companies hire self-employed virtual assistants to save employment costs. You will perform typical office duties from home such as replying to emails, managing calendars, entering data, and assisting with social media.

How to Get It: Start with websites like Upwork.com, FlexJobs.com, and PeoplePerHour.com to find freelance opportunities related to virtual assisting.

Website Tester

What It Is: Many companies pay online testers to make sure websites are intuitive and easy to navigate. “You basically follow the instructions you’re given to check out the website,” says Anna Thurman, founder of RealWaysToEarnMoneyOnline.com, a site that has reviewed more than 500 online work opportunities. “It usually only takes about 15 minutes per test.” Thurman recommends registering with 10 to 12 different companies since the opportunities to test these sites are doled out first come, first served. “There are people who make $100 to $200 a month by staying on top of those tests,” Thurman says.

How to Get It: Begin with sites like UserTesting.com, YouEye.com and Userlytics.com. Register with multiple companies for opportunities to test as many websites as possible. Once you’re in the system, you’ll be emailed when testers are needed, and if you’re one of the first to respond, expect to spend 15 to 20 minutes completing the test. Many sites require a microphone and/or webcam, which are built into most laptops—but if you need to buy one, they aren’t expensive.

Work From Home In 2017

Working from home is increasingly the dream of many a harried employee.

But it’s hard to find legitimate work-from-home opportunities that aren’t too-good-to-be-true scams.

The annual list is comprised of the companies that offered the highest number of remote job listings in the FlexJobs database in 2016, out of a total of 47,000 such companies. It includes jobs that allow for telecommuting both part and all of the time. To access these vetted opportunities, the site charges a fee.

Such opportunities seem to be increasing — the percentage of workers doing all or some of their work at home increased from 19% in 2003 to 24% in 2015, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Among those in management, business, financial operations and professional jobs, the percentage was 35-38%. And 68% of U.S. workers say that they expect to work remotely in the future.

Industries that are most likely to offer remote work include the computer and information technology fields, medical and health, and government and finance. Customer service, education and training and sales also feature a number of telecommuting jobs.

“The results of this year’s list are in line with the overall growth trends we’re observing in the flexible job marketplace, with increasingly diverse companies turning to the ‘TRaD’ (or telecommuting, remote, and distributed) model of work as an integrated business practice,” said Sara Sutton Fell, founder and CEO of FlexJobs.

Amazon Work From Home Call Center

About Amazon

Based in Seattle, WA, this giant of the e-commerce business operates many sites in the United States, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and United Kingdom, employing more than 30,000 people. However, its work-at-home operations, though they have expanded in recent years, are still relatively small and focused on customer service. Amazon’s home-based workers are typically in seasonal holiday WAH jobs.

Amazon Work-at-Home Virtual Call Center Agents

Amazon recruits virtual call center agents, call center managers and human resource professionals to work at home as well as a few tech jobs. Virtual call center agents, the largest segment of home-based workers, are employees (not independent contractors) and may work full or part time for an hourly wage.

Qualifications for Virtual Call Center Agents

All of these work-from-home call center jobs require residency in one of a specific list of states. Some may require on-site training at a specific location as well. See the list of states below.

  • Customer Service Representatives
Home call center agents for Amazon.com generally need at least one year of experience working in customer service, but more is preferred. Likewise, a high school diploma is required, but some college is preferred. Applicants need familiarity with online shopping and research, excellent computer skills and an understanding of Microsoft Office, email and chat technologies. Prior experience working independently in a virtual environment is preferred for all work-at-home positions. A high-speed Internet connection and a dedicated phone line are among the home office requirements. See more on typical home call center office requirements. Part-time employees (minimum of 20 hours/week) will need to be available up to 40 hours during November and December.
  • Call Center Managers
Call center management applicants should have a bachelor’s degree (but MBA preferred) and at least two years of experience managing people as well as some project management experience. They will also need direct experience in customer service in a call center, retail or hospitality environment. The job requires 15% travel. Must live in Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin

Searching for jobs, particularly home-based work, used to be a matter of scanning the Sunday classifieds for offers to get rich quick by stuffing envelopes. Now, working from home is easier than before because exposure to at-home opportunities has multiplied.

A wide variety of job ads are just a click away, but so are the scams.

In 2007, when Rat Race Rebellion — a company that helps people find home-based work — began tracking at-home jobs, there were 30 scams for every legitimate opportunity. Now, with 4,500 to 5,000 work-at-home job ads screened weekly, the website finds 60 phonies for every one that’s for real, says Christine Durst, co-founder and principal of Staffcentrix LLC, the company that owns and manages RatRaceRebellion.com.

Nevertheless, there’s no shortage of workers who dream of beating the odds and earning a living from home.

Durst, whose company Staffcentrix develops home-based and virtual career training programs, says those interested in work-at-home jobs primarily are:

  • Parents who say they want to spend more time with their children.
  • Trailing military spouses who, according to Durst, by virtue of their spouse’s career need to pick up and move every few years.
  • Retirees needing supplemental income.
  • People with disabilities.

Legit Ways To Make Money Online

Technology’s ever-pervading permeation into every last fiber and morsel of society has caused a dramatic upheaval in the way we live, work and entertain ourselves. Thanks to the disruptive nature of the internet, the rate of change has only increased exponentially in recent years.

Yet, with so much change in the world today, and a nearly-instantaneous access to the globe’s population through mediums such as social media and online search, many people are still left perplexed by how they can utilize the powerful technology inherently available through the internet, to actually make money online.

The truth? It’s not easy making money online today. With so much competition and so many people and headlines vying for our attention, sifting through and finding reputable sources to generate any respectable amount of income through the web has become an ever-increasing challenge.

Often, what happens is that we run into unscrupulous Internet Marketers (IMs) who have less-than altruistic intentions of extracting money from you rather than helping you to make it. However, this isn’t something new. People have been falling for networking marketing, pyramid schemes, and affiliate marketing scams since before the start of the net.

So, where are we supposed to turn to make money the legitimate way online? This isn’t just about generating passive income; this is also about finding ways and means to create an active income through the conveniences afforded to us by the internet that will not only help us with our debt obligations, but also empower us to save, invest and get really rich in the future.

It’s not easy by any means. Anyone that tells you otherwise isn’t being transparent with you. It takes an enormous amount of effort and authority-building before you can really start getting rich through your online income-producing activities.

How to Make Money Online?

How to Make Money Online

No matter what method you end up using to generate an income on the web, you need to adjust your mindset to help empower you rather than discourage you. The truth? Making money online can be fraught with avoidable pitfalls. There’s no shortage to the rah-rah cheers of internet marketers looking to find ways to ensure they part you from your hard-earned cash. The trick? Cancel the noise and get to the real meat and potatoes, so to speak.

To do that, you have to harbor a few fundamental guiding principles in your mind. Today, if you’re at all serious about generating a full-time income (and more) from your online activities, then you need to focus on passive income as opposed to active income. Sure, the active income will help you survive. That’s the scarcity mentality at play. But it’s the passive income ideas that will help you thrive.

Considering that you have a finite amount of time, passive income should make up a large part of your work. And if you’re serious about generating any semblance of income online, then passive income should be one of your sole goals and ambitions. Why? Simply this. Wouldn’t you prefer to do the work one time and get paid repeatedly as opposed to relying on your time to generate that income?

Since time is the most precious commodity on this earth, invest the time at the front-end so that you can reap the benefits on the back-end. This means putting in a bit of sweat equity and not getting paid today. Rather, you’ll get paid somewhere down the road. And you’ll continue getting paid whether you keep building that passive income stream or you stop. It’s obvious that this is the preferred route, but clearly the road less traveled.

Anyone interested in making money online should be pursuing passive income, while also working on active income. There are loads of ways to generate an income passively on the internet, many of which start at the foundation of having a blog, generating substantial traffic and building an audience and a list. Is it easy? Nope. Is it worth it? It sure is. But that doesn’t mean you need to start a blog to make money online today.

Online market trading

The historically hard-to-break world of investing in stock markets and currencies has been cracked wide open. Today there is no need to be a fat cat or fund the yachts of Wolf of Wall Street style stock brokers. You can do it all yourself with the help of online market trading platforms.

Having spent many hours researching this new opportunity, I’ve been experimenting with the two biggest platforms: Plus500 and eToro.com.

Both offer free practice accounts, and Plus500 also give you a £20 signup bonus (without depositing, terms apply) for their CFD service which is worth taking up. Overall I prefer eToro with over 4.5 million users worldwide. It was recently featured in the BBC 2 documentary “Traders: Millions by the Minute” and the Financial Times.

One of the best things on eToro is the Copy Trader feature. This lets you literally see, follow and copy the investments of other top performing traders.

Follow George’s complete guide to trading to learn more. I think that $200 is a good amount to get the most out of the learning curve by trying out a few different markets. If nothing else you’ll learn a great deal about various investments and industries.

Surveys

Are you looking for ways to earn extra income on the internet during your leisure time but have no clue on how to start? You may wonder whether it will require you to build your own website, write blog posts, or even sell a product online. Whatever it is, you may think some kind of advanced knowledge is required to do so. Of course, you can do all of those mentioned before, but only if you have some kind of specialty in one of those areas in order to do it well. For most people, this can be a little complicated, but please do not feel discouraged by this. There are actually different ways of making money online. In fact, it is a lot easier than you think.

Paid Surveys – the best and easiest way to make money online

Among all other methods to earn extra income, paid surveys is the best and easiest way to make money online. What could be easier than answering few questions and sharing your thoughts on a survey? It is as easy as drinking a glass of water, right? Plus, it only takes you around 15 minutes to complete a survey and you can earn an average of $5 per survey. It does not require any kind of special skills to complete a survey.

Companies are willing to pay for your opinion

There are many large companies out there who would love to hear your opinion about their services/products and in exchange reward you for this kind of useful information. Companies use this valuable information for their future developments – to design better products/services and to improve the quality of them. All feedback is welcomed whether positive or negative. You do not have to be afraid of “not getting paid” if your feedback is negative. In fact, companies are open to hearing negative feedback as well since it would help point out what needs to be worked on.

Paid Surveys – Risk free way to earn money

You may worry about the risks of earning money online because of all those stories you have heard where people are being scammed of money by fictitious companies. The truth is most of those “companies” are probably asking you to “invest” in order to increase your “return on investment”. However, a legit paid survey site will never require you to make any kind of investment. Legit sites will NEVER ask you for any credit card information and will NEVER ask you to pay for any fee to cash out your earnings. They are always free to join and do not require anything to redeem your earnings.

Pain Versus Pleasure

Before I talk about some of the methods for making money online, I wanted to address the role of pain versus pleasure. Every decision that we make in life is weighed on a pain-versus-pleasure scale. We will always do more to avoid pain than we will to gain pleasure, plain and simple. However, this is also what holds us back from succeeding in any endeavor.

Let me explain…

Now, making money online should seem like a pleasurable activity. Why wouldn’t we do just about anything to see things through, since it would be a major source of pleasure, right? Wrong. In the beginning, like anything else, we might get really excited about it. We might also set our hopes very high. But that all comes crashing down when we begin to fail.

The problem? In order to make serious amounts of money online, you need to the most amount of work for the least initial back, not the least amount of work for the greatest return. Translation — major amounts of pain. That’s also the problem with how affiliate marketers, network marketers, and IMs attempt to sell you the “dream,” so to speak.

When people buy into the hype, they set their expectations extremely high. All they need to do is send a few emails out, and voila, instant millions overnight. Well, clearly it doesn’t quite work like that. The issue at heart is that we will always do more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure in the short term, not in the long term.

That’s why it’s so hard to quit bad habits or do anything else that requires any semblance of struggle. The human mind is hardwired to avoid pain in the short term, not in the long term. It’s part of our survival instinct.

Selling on Amazon, eBay and Etsy

One of the quickest ways to get started selling online is to leverage the power of “third party” sites. E-commerce giants like Amazon, eBay, and Etsy are powerful sales and marketing platforms with a built-in prospect base. Millions of people already visit these sites to shop. And they are ready to buy — that’s why they visited the site, after all.

On these sites, they make it easy to set up your own “shop” where customers can browse your products on offer — no need for you to set up your own website or anything. And you’ll find a built-in search feature so that interested prospects will find your particular online storefront.

Plus, you use their shopping cart. In short, you avoid much of the expense and hassle of setting up an “independent” e-commerce website.

And, with Amazon, you can even have them fulfil your orders. No fuss, no muss. Amazon says there are more than two million sellers on their site, representing 40 percent of all sales. So you’ll be in good company.

With eBay, the procedure is very similar. You simply first become an eBay seller. Stay in good standing and make sure you’re PayPal verified. Then you can sign up for your store. Again, here you take advantage of eBay’s reputation, reach, and sales and marketing infrastructure to sell your own products.

Etsy is focused on handcrafted and unique items. It has 1.5 million sellers around the world. Like Amazon and eBay you can set up your own online shop on the site.

All of these sites, as well as other third party sites out there, really are a very easy way to get started selling online, although you do have to pay fees to the provider.

A few pro tips: use clear, high-quality photos of your products; keep your product descriptions detailed and specific.

Sell Your Stuff

Ever since the idea of online auctions came into existence, the online selling market has been on the rise. Many are interested, but don’t know how to get started. There are still all kinds of ways to make money by selling online, whether you’re selling what you already have or buying and selling like a store. Before we get started, here are a few general tips when selling anything online:

    • Get a PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you’ll want to get one if you’re doing business online. It’s the standard in online business for receiving payment and paying others.
    • Take good pictures. Some of the options below don’t require you to actually take the picture and sell the product, but for the ones that do, make sure you take a clear picture that makes your product stand out from the others.  If you’re going to be taking a lot of pictures, set up a small “studio-like” area in your home with a backdrop and proper lighting to really make your pictures come across as professional. And of course, you’ll want a good camera too.
  • Be honest.  If you’re selling used items, be honest about every dent, scratch etc.. This will reduce many issues you could run into and keep your reviews positive.
  • Do good business. Whether you’re selling on a small site or opening an online store, your customer service matters. You’ll want to get those positive reviews and make a good name for yourself. Respond to questions, concerns and complaints. Offer a guarantee if available.

Get Paid to Watch Videos

If you’ve ever fallen down a YouTube rabbit hole, this is a money-making activity for you.

Every time you watch a video in your Swagbucks account, you’ll earn cash.

Set it and forget it — let those videos play in another tab or on your second screen while you work! You’ll get a free $5 for signing up and watching your first one.

Look at Ads on Your Smartphone

Don’t mind seeing advertisements every time you pick up your phone? Install Slidejoy on your Android phone and you can earn a few extra bucks every month.

This app is only available to U.S.-based Android users. When it’s time to get paid, you can choose to receive cash or gift cards to retailers like CVS, Target, Sephora and more.
