Online Income

How to select an industry for profitable business

You must select a topic and industry you are passionate about. I am passionate about credit cards, saving money using financial hacks, and growing businesses without spending money on advertisements. I started an online community to help people select the best credit card for cashbacks on shopping/fuel/travel, to enjoy long luxury travel under budget, and help people identify a passive source of income.

You should select the right channel for driving traffic to your website. There are two major ways of getting traffic to your website:

#1. Traffic from Google (+ some traffic from Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo)

#2. Traffic from Facebook (+ some traffic from Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn)

Google and Facebook dominate most of the traffic (in India). Don’t worry about the other traffic sources if your focus is the Indian audience.

Industries dominating Facebook

  1. Eentertainment (fun and gossip)
  2. Cricket
  3. Politics
  4. Startups and marketing
  5. Media (news and trends)

Industries dominating Google

  1. Tech
  2. Shopping
  3. Finance
  4. Health
  5. Education

Industries dominating both Facebook and Google

  1. Jobs
  2. Fashion and beauty
  3. Childcare and parenting
  4. Food
  5. Travel

Focusing on your passion is more important than chasing money.

Top paying online jobs.

Depending on your skill set, you could easily supplement your income with an online job in a number of areas. In our so-called gig economy, it’s fairly easy to leverage existing apps like Fiverr, Uber and PostMates that pay you to provide a service to a vast group of people. But how about when you’re searching for something more substantial? Which online jobs will pay you the biggest amount of money for the work you’ll put in?

Depending on your level of skill and expertise, there are a wide range of options that extend from business services to direct-to-consumer work. As the internet grows, it gets more complex and convoluted. Certain fundamental marketing concepts, while easy to understand, have become incredibly difficult to implement online. We’re talking about increased visibility, more leads and sales, things that businesses have cared about for ages.

If you know what you’re doing, the following seven online jobs can produce substantial incomes.

AdSense & other Ad network

Although this one is the most favourite in my list but I put this in #4 because its not as easy as other 3 above & it takes time to make money from Google AdSense.

You need a website (which anyone can create now a days) & some tricks to bring the traffic on your website so that you can earn money from AdSense & other ad network.

Make money online – quick tips

Before you start to earn money online, there are a few things worth knowing. The main thing to remember is that while some of these sites only pay small amounts, add them all together and you could be looking at an annual bonanza of £1,000s.

  • Don’t store cash in online-earning accounts

Companies that offer you the opportunity to earn online aren’t banks. There’s no protection if one goes under, taking your cash with it. So withdraw your cash as soon as you reach the payment threshold.

  • Set up a dedicated email address

Don’t use your normal email address – it’ll be immediately flooded. Instead, set up a dedicated email account for online earning. When it comes to powerful free option, Gmail is among the best. Doing this is also a quick way to check when new paid tasks become available.

  • Don’t expect to be instantly rolling in it
With some sites, it can take a while to earn enough to be able to withdraw your money. And if you give up, it means you did the tasks for free.

For this reason, it’s important to understand it’s not quick cash. But it is nice extra income, provided you’re consistent and have a little patience.

  • Don’t forget the taxman’ll want his share

Before you start counting the dosh, don’t forget some of it belongs to the taxman. For most people, it’ll be around a third. That said, earnings from most of these sources are unlikely to push non-taxpayers over the threshold.

As any sources of extra income need to be declared, ensure you’re upfront with HM Revenue & Customs. Survey earnings are self-employed income, which means registering as self-employed with HMRC on 0300 200 3300. Register late and you could face an automatic £100 penalty.

For full information, read HMRC’s self-employment leaflet.

Two new tax breaks, which were supposed to have applied to earnings from 6 April 2017, have been quietly axed by the Government. See our Government drops £1,000 tax breaks for online sellers and room renters – for now news story for full details.

What counts as income? We asked HMRC and it said income earned through websites and apps may be taxable if the income’s in return for performing a service or providing a facility.

So, completing online surveys or allowing an application to analyse your activities is taxable, but if you’re unsure, give HMRC a call.

  • Spend gift vouchers ASAP

If you’re given the choice, opt to get paid in cash. If you get paid in gift vouchers, spend them ASAP. Doing so reduces your chances of being left with invalid vouchers should the retailer go bust on you. Plus it means you can’t lose them or forget about them until they go out of date.

Paid for searching the web

Interested in earning cash for doing what you already do online? This has to be one of the easiest methods of making money online without really any effort or change in your behavior.

This innovative idea by Qmee.com rewards you for searching in Google, Bing or Yahoo. You just install a simple add-on to your browser and when you conduct a search there may be a few sponsored results alongside your normal search.

Each Qmee result has a cash reward attached – if you are interested in it simply click on it and collect your reward.

The best thing is there is no minimum to cashout – our first one was just 72p wired to our Paypal account. You also have the option to donate it to charity.

Email marketing.

The money is most certainly in the list. If you’re at all interested in online marketing, setup email software and create a lead magnet that you can use in your sales funnel. Then, build up that list. It’s often said that you can expect to earn about $1 per subscriber per month. If you have a list of 10,000 subscribers, that means you can earn roughly around $10,000 per month. You will need to deliver value and not pitch them on every email, but it is a very achievable goal in a short period.

There are many ways to get people onto your list. Lead magnets are one such resource. For example, you can build ebooks, checklists and cheat sheets. But you can also do content upgrades, such as PDF versions of an article with added resources in them, four-part video training series, and more. Think about your audience and what you can offer them to better serve them, then treat them with some respect and you’ll eventually reap the rewards.

Webinars trainings.

Webinars are quite possibly one of the most potent ways you can make an exorbitant amount of money online. Russell Brunson often says that if you do a webinar every single week for a year, you’ll be a millionaire at the end of it. You’ll need an audience to train and you’ll need to know what you’re talking about. Of course, this usually requires having a website and some semblance of an online presence.

However, people can still do webinars without all of that. For example, you might have a sizable social media following and you train them every week on something to do with social media. But you will need a product to embed and sell at some point. Don’t worry about it in the beginning. And by far, the best webinar platform out there is certainly GoToWebinar. Hands down, there isn’t even another platform that comes close.

However, not matter what method you choose to make money online, understand that you might be able to make some money fast, but for the sizable returns, you’ll need significant sweat equity. However, a year from now, you’ll be happy you started today. Remember, time is far more valuable than money. Focus on creating passive income streams that will free up your time so that you can quit the rat race and focus on the things that matter. That’s the important thing here.

Make an Investment, Then Set It and Forget It

Tucking away money from each paycheck is a tough thing to do  — because it’s payday, hey!

The best way to smuggle little chunks of your paycheck into a separate account is to automate the process so you don’t have to think about it. An app like Acorns can help with that.

Acorns is a micro-investing app that allows you to execute a set-it-and-forget-it method. (Kinda like the Ronco Rotisserie.)

Set up your Acorns account so it dumps spare change from your debit or credit card transactions into an account. For example, spend $1.20 at the gas station, and Acorns will stash 80 cents away. Or set up your account so that every two weeks, it saves $20.

Often these companies hire worldwide, but some are noted to hire in only Canada, Europe or other specific countries. The pay scale on these global jobs varies widely.
